Track Tuesday

We interrupt this Track Tuesday post with breaking news…I’m a San Francisco Marathon Ambassador!!!  WOAH- so excited, humbled, honored, blessed, excited…  The emails and announcement went out yesterday evening, and I was literally jumping up and down in my living room!  There are some amazing men and women on the team, and I really look forward to serving with them.  If the twitter/facebook chatter so far is any indication, we’re all extremely fired up and enthusiastic about helping each of you have the best SFM experience EVER on June 16, 2013.  More to come later on that, but I couldn’t wait to post about it!

Track Tuesday began a little earlier than normal for Batch and I this morning since we had to leave our house by 7:30am for an appointment.  We still managed to get a great work out in, although we did cut 2 of the intervals out in the interest of time.

Warm Up: 1.05 miles/8:30 pace

Main Set:
2x 1600 @ T pace (plan said 7:42 for me): 7:22; 7:25
6×400 @ I pace (plan said 1:42 for me): 1:40; 1:44; 1:43; 1:43; 1:41; 1:43
2×1600 @ T pace- omitted — out of time

Cool down: 1.22 miles/ 8:05 pace

TOTAL: 7 miles/54:45/7:49 pace

I’ll be honest, this workout didn’t feel great.  I’m not sure if it’s because we did our maintenance run yesterday afternoon so my legs weren’t fresh or if it was just one of those days.  I’m not unhappy with the results, but given the MUCH cooler temperatures this morning, I had hoped to not struggle with these paces.  Again, not discouraged, just determined and focused.  I‘m actually encouraged by how consistent I was able to keep my intervals.  I’m also still thankful for each day I can run- Soli Deo Gloria (to God be the glory)!!

Happy Tuesday!

Congrats again on being an SFM Amabassador! That is so exciting!! Also, I am curious what marathon training plan you are using? I am (already) thinking about what I want to put together for Eugene and taking in all the info I can get!

    • Thanks!!! I’m using “RunCoach” this time around for my training plan. I sent you an email with all the details. It seems very similar to RW’s Smart Coach. :) So looking forward to Eugene!
