Dress: Anthropologie; Shoes: Cole Haan Outlet (recent); Necklace: Banana Republic (old); Shawl + jewelry + hat: J Crew
I went for years believing hats were totally uncool. Not anymore. Cool or not, I wear them- especially for occasions like Easter and the Derby. I’d love to find a really unusual hat one of these days, but given how infrequently I wear the hats I already own, I can’t really justify another one.
Let’s talk about this dress for just a minute…I literally ran across it at the Anthropologie winter clearance sale just before Christmas. I picked it up for around $35. Yes, $35 for a dress from Anthropologie. Sweet bargain success. I love the 50’s style and the top actually unbuttons from the bottom making it just a skirt (that feature also makes it a bit tricky to put on, but worth it in the end).
In case you missed my post on Easter day, Sunday was also Batch and I’s anniversary so I’ll leave you with our “official” 12 year picture and one with my mom and our dog, Luke.

Love the whole look and the hat is perfect.
thank you very much!
BEAUTIFUL! What a steal on the dress! Who is the deal queen, now? — You KNOW I love the hat.. you look completely derby-ready! Wish we were going. I keep trying to tell my husband that we need to alternate between JF and the Derby each year.
you KNOW i absolutely agree with that plan. batch and i got an invite to some keeneland racing weekend but it was just too much all at the same time. completely disappointed. maybe next year!
You are so cute! Looking all southern and proper
green again! I love green, anthro and the dress – reminds me of the one I wore to my son’s wedding. Looks great on you!
