It’s no big secret that I love football and while college sports are my first love, I maintain a healthy affection for the pros when it comes to the pigskin. If you’ve been around this blog for a while, you’ve probably heard mention of my obsession love for fleur de lis. No, my love for the symbol did not lead me to my love for the Saints, quite the opposite. I’m from NOLA hence, for the past thirty *ahem* years, I’ve been a WhoDat. WhoDat’s are a rare bread who proudly display their teams colors even while wearing paper bags over their heads to hide their shame at being the ’Aints for more years than I care to remember. In recent years we’ve been able to celebrate success both on and off the field as the Saints led a broken city back from the flood waters of Katrina. In my perfect world, I would have found a way to be in NOLA this weekend- first weekend of Mardi Gras, Saints playoff and BCS Championship!! Good thing NOLA knows how to party!
Don’t get me wrong, there’s a soft spot in my heart for my local Houston Texans too (in fact, we’re watching the game as I type). My first loyalty, however, still resides in that city below sea level.
Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez- oh, and WHO DAT!!!

Watched the game last night…love Drew Brees. Go Falcons!!
